had better 和 would rather 的用法

had better 意為“最好”，would rather 意為“寧愿”，兩者均后接動詞原形，否定式均應在動詞原形前加 not；在否定疑問句和反意疑問句中可用 hadn’t / wouldn’t。如：

You’d better not disturb him. 你最好別去打擾他。

He’d rather (not) go by car. 他寧愿(不)坐汽車去。

注：would rather 后接賓語從句時，從句謂語要用虛擬語氣，即用一般過去時表示現在或將來，用過去完成時表示過去。如：

I’d rather you went tomorrow. 我寧愿你明天去。

I’d rather he hadn't told me about it. 我寧愿他沒告訴我這事。
