系動詞continue的用法

continue可用作連系動詞，其后可接形容詞、介詞短語等。如：

■接形容詞

He continued silent. 他繼續沉默著。

We hope the weather will continue fine. 我們希望天氣繼續很好。

It did not seem likely that he would continue long in that position. 他似乎不太可能長期留在這個職位。

■接介詞短語

Mother continues in weak health. 母親身體仍然很虛弱。

He continues in good condition. 他的健康情況仍然良好。

After his illness the Minister continued in office though he was no longer up to the work / up to doing the work.  部長生病后繼續任職，但他已力不勝任了。
