名詞 choice 用法說明

1. 表示“選擇”“抉擇”，通常為可數(shù)名詞。如：

He is faced with a difficult choice. 他面臨困難的抉擇。

Our choices come down to going or staying. 我們的選擇可歸結(jié)為去還是留。

但是，表示供選擇的種類或范圍，以及選擇的權(quán)利或可能性等，則為不可數(shù)名詞。如：

There’s not much choice in the shops. 這些商店中沒有多少可挑選的東西。

2. 表示作出選擇，通常與動詞 make搭配。如：

There comes a time when you have to make a choice. 你必須作出抉擇的時候到了。

What influenced you when you made your choice? 在你做出選擇時你受了什么影響？

3. 注意以下與介詞的習(xí)慣搭配：

make a choice between the two 在這兩者中選擇

make a choice among the three 在這三者中選擇

have a choice between A and B 在 A 和 B 當(dāng)中選擇

4. 用于 have no choice but to do sth, 意為“除做……以外，別無選擇”或“只好做……”。如：

We had no choice but to do what we were asked to do. 我們沒法子，只好照辦。

5. 用于以下短語，注意不帶冠詞：

(1) by [for] choice 出于自己的選擇，憑愛好。如：

He lives here by choice. 他自愿選擇住在這里。

I should take this one for choice. 要挑我就挑這個。

(2) out of [from] choice 愿意地，出于自愿。如：

He helped us out of choice. 他出于自愿幫助我們。

She lives in the country from choice. 他愿意住在鄉(xiāng)下。
