7. scheme 計劃，方案；陰謀

表示“做某事的計劃（方案、陰謀等）”，其后通常接不定式，也可接for doing sth。如：

I think he had a scheme to cheat the customer. 我認為他耍陰謀坑騙顧客。

We need to come up with a good scheme to make money.我們需要想出一個賺錢的好法子。

We have a scheme for finishing the job by Friday. 我們計劃星期五之前完成此項工作。

He has a scheme to increase [for increasing] his income. 他有一個增加收入的計劃。

8. time 時間

表示做某事的時間，其后通常接不定式，有時也接for doing sth。如：

The time to relax is when we’re ahead. 我們提前完成，才是休息的時候。

Now is the best time to visit the gardens. 現在是最適合逛花園的時候。

She needs to slot time for visiting her great-aunt. 她需要安排時間拜訪伯祖母。

The trip allows you plenty of time for browsing around the shops. 此次旅行留給你足夠的時間逛商店。

但是，在以下結構中，通常要用不定式：

(1) it’s time to do sth 是做某事的時候了。如：

It’s time to ask for a raise. 是要求加薪的時候了。

It’s time to call this meeting to a close. 到了結束會議的時候了。

(2) have time to do sth 有做某事的時間。如：

You have plenty of time to catch your train. 你有足夠的時間去趕火車。

I didn’t even have time to comb my hair. 我甚至連梳頭的時間都沒有。

He set aside the book until he had time to read it. 他把書放起來，等到今后有時間時再讀。

有時也用have time for doing sth結構，但主要見于singing, dancing, painting, reading等可以名詞化的動名詞。如：

I haven’t enough time to read [for reading]. 我沒有足夠的時間讀書。

(3) need time to do sth 需要時間做某事。如(www.hz123456.com)：

I need time to reflect before answering your question. 回答你的問題前，我需要時間認真考慮。

People needed time to understand the reality of damage caused by the hurricane. 人們需要時間去認識颶風對現實所造成的損失。

(4) there is time to do sth 有時間做某事。如：

There’s a time to work and a time to play. 有工作的時間，也要有娛樂的時間。

There isn’t nearly enough time to learn all these words. 要把這些詞都學會了，時間遠遠不夠。
