work 與 do 在口語中的用法

看看下面這道題，該用do還是work？

—How do you feel after taking the medicine?

—Oh, it __________. I’m feeling much better now.

此題應(yīng)選D。容易誤選C。在口語中，動(dòng)詞do, work有兩個(gè)用法值得注意。如：

1. work 表示“行得通”或“奏效”等。如：

The plan worked well. 這個(gè)計(jì)劃很起作用。

The drug will not work. 這藥不會(huì)起作用。

It worked like a charm. 這產(chǎn)生了奇效。

Your idea won’t work in practice. 你的想法實(shí)際上行不通。

Will these new methods work? 這些新方法會(huì)奏效嗎?

I think your suggestion will work. 我想你的建議會(huì)奏效的。

The medicine worked and the pain went away soon. 這藥效很好，疼痛很快就消失了。

2. do 表示“行”、“適合”、“湊合”。如：

Will that do? 那行嗎?

Any dictionary will do. 什么詞典都行。

This won’t do. I’ll take that. 這個(gè)不行，我要那個(gè)。

I’m terribly hungry. Get me something to eat, please. Anything will do. 我餓極了，請(qǐng)給我弄點(diǎn)吃的東西來，什么都行。

—When shall we meet again? 我們什么時(shí)候再見面?

—Any time will do. It’s all the same to me. 什么時(shí)候都行，我無所謂。
