I dare say的用法

I dare say是習(xí)語(yǔ)（也可拼成I daresay），主要用以下兩個(gè)用法：

1. 表示“我想”，與I suppose同義。如：

You are tired, I dare say. 我看你也許是累了。

I daresay you’re ready for a drink. 我想你也許想喝點(diǎn)什么。

I dare say your sympathy is with him. 我猜想你是同情他的。)

2. 表示“我同意你說(shuō)的，但這無(wú)關(guān)緊要”，即I accept what you say, but it doesn’t make any difference。如：

A：But I drive on the left in England! 可在英國(guó)我開(kāi)車時(shí)是靠左走!

B：I daresay you do, but we drive on the right here. 我相信你所說(shuō)的，但是在這里我們必須靠右走。

A：But the watch was given to me；I didn’t buy it. 可這表是人家送我的，并不是我自己買的。

B：I daresay you didn’t, but you’ll have to pay duty on it all the same. 我可以承認(rèn)你不是買的，但你照樣得交關(guān)稅。

注：daresay的這種用法只用于第一人稱單數(shù)，所以不能說(shuō)He daresay, She dare say之類的。
