alike能不能用very修飾

前面有網(wǎng)友提問(wèn)：alike能不能用very修飾？

老師說(shuō)，alike不能用very修飾，但我在書(shū)看到這樣一個(gè)句子：

Tom and his friend are very alike.

這個(gè)怎么解釋?zhuān)?/SPAN>

國(guó)內(nèi)出版的有些慣用法詞典仍沿用一些過(guò)時(shí)的用法，沒(méi)有與時(shí)俱進(jìn)。網(wǎng)友上面的這個(gè)問(wèn)題就是比較典型的一個(gè)例子。比如《薄冰英語(yǔ)慣用法詞典》在alike詞條就認(rèn)為：

alike意為“相像”，是表語(yǔ)形容詞，前面不可用very修飾，應(yīng)說(shuō)much alike或very much alike，用very much比much普遍。例如：

The father and the son are alike, both being early risers. 父子倆很相像，都愛(ài)早起。

Mother and daughter are very much alike in their fear of snakes. 母女兩人在怕蛇方面是一模一樣。

但事實(shí)上，這一觀點(diǎn)已經(jīng)很過(guò)時(shí)了，許多介紹英語(yǔ)用法的原版辭書(shū)早就修正了這一觀點(diǎn)，比如Michael Swan的《英語(yǔ)用法指南》(Practical English Usage, 1980)在其第1版中就指出：有人認(rèn)為very alike這種說(shuō)法是不對(duì)的，一定要說(shuō)very much。其實(shí)，very alike在受過(guò)教育的人使用的語(yǔ)言里也是常見(jiàn)的。

事實(shí)上，very alike 的用法不僅在閱讀中隨處可見(jiàn)，而且早已被各類(lèi)英語(yǔ)辭典和語(yǔ)法著作所收錄：

She and her sister are very alike. (Longman Dictionary of American English, 4th edition, 2008)

We looked very alike. (Collins COBUILD Advanced Dictionary of English, 2009)

The children all look very alike. (Cambridge Advanced Learner’s Dictionary; 4th Edition, 2013)

Bill and Tom are very alike. (A Practical English Grammar, 4th Edition,1986)

The two boys are very alike. (Oxford American Dictionary for Learners of English, 2011)

The correspondences are interesting; the two sets of information are very alike. (Longman Lexicon of Contemporary English,1992)
