有關“疑問詞”的語法陷阱題

一、“疑問詞”用于介詞后

【經典實例】

Children rarely show any appreciation for _________ their parents do for them.

A. which                     B. how                     C. what                      D. why

【解析】選C。what引導的賓語從句用作介詞for的賓語，同時what在賓語從句中用作動詞do的賓語。

With whom did you go? 你和誰一起去的?

To whom were you speaking? 你剛才在跟誰說話?

Since when have you became active? 你什么時候開始變得積極了?

For what purpose did you invite me to come here? 你們請我到這里來是為了什么目的?

What was her explanation for why she was late? 她對她的遲到有何解釋？

二、省略后只保留“疑問詞”

【經典實例】

Dr. Black comes from either Oxford or Cambridge, I can’t remember _________.

A. where                     B. there                     C. which                     D. that

【解析】選C。I can’t remember which為I can’t remember which city he comes from之省略。

I have seen you before, but I can’t remember where. 我以前見過你，但是不記得在哪里了。

He would have preferred to put her idea aside together, if he had known how. 如果他已經知道情況，他寧愿把她一古腦兒拋到一邊。

Something is the matter, but I don’t know what. 總有點不對勁，但我不知道是什么。

He has turned against his wife. He himself doesn’t know why. 他和妻子作對。他自己也不知為什么。

She’s got a down on me; I don’t know why. 她很討厭我，我不知道為什么。

三、兩個或多個“疑問詞”連用

【經典實例】

Professor James will give us a lecture on the Western culture, but when and where _________ yet.

A. hasn’t been decided    B. haven’t decided       C. isn’t being decided     D. aren’t decided

【解析】A。根據句意，此處應用被動語態，不用主動語態，故排除B；又因為when and where表示單數意義，故排除D；再根據句末的yet可知，最好用現在完成時，故選A最佳。
