定冠詞的考點(diǎn)性用法

1. 用于整十的復(fù)數(shù)數(shù)詞前：表示幾十年代。如：

This happened in the seventies. 這發(fā)生在七十年代。

2. 用于比較級(jí)前：用于“the+比較級(jí)，the+比較級(jí)”結(jié)構(gòu)中表示“越……就越……”。如：

The sooner we operate now the safer. 越早動(dòng)手術(shù)越安全。

The better I knew him, the more I liked him. 我越了解他就越喜歡他。

3. 用于表示類別：用于“the+某些形容詞或過(guò)去分詞”中表示一類人。如：

Do you think the rich should pay more taxes to help the poor? 你認(rèn)為富人是否應(yīng)當(dāng)多交點(diǎn)稅來(lái)幫助窮人?

The sick and the wounded were sent home. 傷病員都送回家了。

4. 用于國(guó)籍名詞前表總稱：用于“the+某些國(guó)籍的形容詞”中表示某國(guó)人的總稱。如：

The French are famous for their food. 法國(guó)人因法國(guó)菜而出名。

The British drink a great deal of tea. 英國(guó)人飲茶很多。

5. 用于集合名詞前表總稱：用于“the + police / public等集合名詞”中表示這類人的總稱。如：

The police are looking for the murderer. 警察正在尋找那個(gè)兇手。

6. 用于修飾same, only, very等形容詞：即用于“the same / only / very +名詞”結(jié)構(gòu)中。如：

That’s the only reason. 那是唯一的理由。

Do you belong to the same class? 你們是同一個(gè)班嗎？

My view is the very opposite of his. 我的看法和他的看法恰恰相反。

7. 用于單位名詞前表標(biāo)標(biāo)準(zhǔn)：即用于“單位詞”（hour, day, month, year, dozen, gallon, ton, yard等）前表示標(biāo)準(zhǔn)，相當(dāng)于漢語(yǔ)的“按”“論”“每”等。如：

They let out cars by the day. 他們按天出租汽車(chē)。

Do you sell eggs by the kilo or by the dozen? 雞蛋怎么賣(mài)，論公斤，還是論打?

但是，by weight（按重量）習(xí)慣上不用冠詞。如：

Bananas are usually sold by weight. 香蕉通常按重量賣(mài)。
