用作名詞的 survey 意思很多，在學(xué)習(xí)應(yīng)注意以下有用搭配：
(1) 表“根據(jù)……調(diào)查”，通常與介詞 according to 搭配。如：
According to the latest surveys many Britons suffer from heart disease. 據(jù)最近調(diào)查顯示，許多英國人患心臟病。
According to the survey, as few as 10% of us are happy with our jobs. 據(jù)調(diào)查顯示，我們當(dāng)中只有10%的人對自己的工作感到滿意。
(2) 表“調(diào)查表明……”“（民意）測驗(yàn)表明……”，通常與動詞show, reveal, indicate等動詞搭配。如：
The survey revealed a wide spread of opinion. 調(diào)查結(jié)果表明各種意見差別很大。
Surveys have shown that more and more people are getting into debt. 調(diào)查顯示越來越多的人負(fù)債。
Surveys show that 75% of people approve of the new law. 民意測驗(yàn)表明，75%的人贊成新頒布的法規(guī)。
A survey indicated that 89 per cent of people recycle paper. 一項(xiàng)調(diào)查顯示89%的人重復(fù)使用紙張。
(3) 表示若表示“進(jìn)行調(diào)查（測驗(yàn)）”等，可與 carry out, conduct, do, make, take, undertake 等動詞搭配。如：
They’re conducting a survey. 他們正在進(jìn)行一項(xiàng)調(diào)查(www.hz123456.com)。
We conducted a survey of parents in the village. 我們對這個(gè)村子里的父母親作了一次調(diào)查。
The charity did a survey of people's attitudes to the disabled. 慈善團(tuán)體就人們對殘疾人的態(tài)度進(jìn)行了調(diào)查。
A survey carried out last year found 80% of the public in favor of the change. 去年做的一次調(diào)查發(fā)現(xiàn)80%的公眾支持這項(xiàng)改革。
He called me on the pretext that he was taking a survey, but he was actually selling stocks. 他打電話給我借口在作調(diào)查，但他實(shí)際上是在賣股票。
(4) 表示“對……調(diào)查”，其后通常接介詞 of。如：
survey of US businesses 對美國企業(yè)的調(diào)查(www.yywords.com)
Our survey of the company showed that it was in trouble. 我們對此公司的調(diào)查表明它已經(jīng)陷入困境。
若表示“關(guān)于……的調(diào)查”，其后則接介詞 on 或 about。如：
a survey on drivers' attitudes to the police 關(guān)于司機(jī)對警察的看法的調(diào)查
She prepared a survey about immigration. 她設(shè)計(jì)了一個(gè)關(guān)于移民問題的民意調(diào)查。
