5. 用于in that (this) case，其意為“既然那樣（這樣）”“在那種（這種）情況下”“如果是那樣（這樣）的話”。如：

In that case you’ll have to clear yourself. 那樣，你只得自行辯白了。

In that case, I have no more to say. 要是那樣，我就沒什么可說的了。

We cannot assume anything in this case. 在這種情形下我們無法作任何揣測(cè)。

注意以下這類引導(dǎo)定語從句的情形。如：

He may be busy, in which case I’ll call later. 他可能忙，如若如此，我以后再來拜訪。

She may be late, in which case we ought to wait for her. 她可能遲到，因此我們應(yīng)該等她。

I may have to work late, in which case I’ll telephone. 我可能得晚點(diǎn)下班，那樣我會(huì)打電話的。
