a.m. 與 p.m. 用法小說明

1. a.m. 意為“上午”，p.m. 意為“下午”，兩者在用法上應(yīng)注意以下幾點(diǎn)：

(1) 其中的句點(diǎn)通常可以省略，即寫成am和pm。

(2) 兩者都不能單獨(dú)使用，而要與表示時(shí)間的數(shù)字連用，且置于數(shù)字之后。

(3) 不能與 in the morning 或 in the afternoon 連用，以免構(gòu)成用詞重復(fù)。

(4) 不能與 o’clock 連用。

The plane leaves at 7:45 pm. 飛機(jī)下午7點(diǎn)45分起飛。

I have a dental appointment at 3 pm. 我下午3時(shí)有個(gè)牙科的預(yù)約。

It’s cheaper between 6 pm and 8 am. 下午6時(shí)至上午8時(shí)之間較為便宜。

2. 相應(yīng)的短語有時(shí)可置于名詞前作定語。如：

I missed the 5:45 pm train from Paris. 我沒有趕上從巴黎開來的下午5點(diǎn)45分的列車。

The 7 am express to Bristol will be taken off next month. 上午7點(diǎn)開往布里斯托爾的快車將于下月停駛。
