■ 符號或單詞如何變數(shù)
對于某些符號或單詞，如果在某些特殊語境需將其用作名詞，且需要使用復(fù)數(shù)形式，此時可在詞尾可加-s或-’s. 如：
All the –’s should be changed to +’s. 所有的正號應(yīng)改為負號。
His speech was punctuated by irritating ah’s and well’s. 他說話時常帶煩人的ah和well。
His argument contains too many ifs and buts. 他的論證帶有太多的“如果”和“但是”。
■ 數(shù)字如何變數(shù)
既可在詞尾加-s，也可加-’s。如：
Your 3(’)s look like 8(’)s. 你寫的3看起來像8。
但是，如果是one, two, three, four這樣的數(shù)詞，則一般規(guī)則變復(fù)數(shù)。如：
They arrived in twos and threes. 他們?nèi)齼蓛傻貋砹恕?/SPAN>
He was in his early twenties. 他二十一二歲。
