使用雙重所有格有哪些注意點

1. 受雙重所有格修飾的名詞通常不能是專有名詞或具有獨一無二性質的名詞，如不說 Jim of Mrs. Smith’s / a father of Mary’s，可改說 Mrs. Smith’s Jim / Mary’s father。

2. 受雙重所有格修飾的名詞通常不能帶定冠詞，但可帶指示代詞this, that, these, those，表示某種感情色彩(如贊賞、厭惡等)，如不說 the masterpiece of Tom’s，但可說 this / that masterpiece of Tom’s。

3. 雙重所有格中帶-’s所有格的名詞通常應是確指的，如不說 a brother of a friend’s，但可說 a friend of my friend’s。

4. 雙重所有格中帶-’s所有格的名詞通常應是有生命的，如不說a window of the room’s，應改為a window of the room。
