不定冠詞連用抽象名詞的三種情況

1. 有些抽象名詞由于可以由于含義的變化，轉(zhuǎn)化成了個(gè)體名詞，故可連用不定冠詞。如：

She is quite a beauty. 她真是個(gè)美人兒。

It’s a pity to leave so early. 這么早就走真是遺憾。

It’s a pleasure to be with you. 跟你在一起是愉快的。

We judged the London visit a success. 我們認(rèn)為這次倫敦之行很成功。

2. 有些單形的抽象名詞是由動(dòng)詞轉(zhuǎn)化來的，也常與不定冠詞連用。如：

Let’s have a try at it. 讓我們?cè)囁�一下�?/SPAN>

Give the clothes a good boil. 把衣服好好煮一煮。

I felt a touch on my arm. 我覺得臂上有人碰了一下。

Shall we go for a swim tomorrow? 我們明天去游泳好嗎?

3. 用于某些固定搭配中，如at a loss, in a hurry, as a rule, once upon a time, all of a sudden等。如：

I was at a loss for words. 我不知說什么好。

You aren’t in a hurry but I am. 你不著急，我可著急。

■ 不定冠詞可用于復(fù)數(shù)名詞前嗎

少數(shù)搭配中可以。主要見于以下情況：

1. 用于“不定冠詞+形容詞+復(fù)形抽象名詞”結(jié)構(gòu)，這結(jié)構(gòu)多用于表示時(shí)間、距離、金錢等，如a full six hours（足足6小時(shí)）、a busy two weeks（忙碌的兩星期）、a good two miles（足足兩英里）、a good five dollars（整整5美元）等。如：

I’ve had a busy two weeks. 我忙了兩個(gè)星期。

It’s a good three miles to the station. 離車站至少三英里。

Her dress was a full three inches above the knee. 她的連衣裙下擺離膝蓋整整三英寸。

2. 用于某些習(xí)語中，如a few, a great many等。如：

A great many people were at the meeting. 很多人參加了會(huì)。

There were a good few copies sold on the first day. 第一天就賣了許多本。

注意：有些名詞雖然帶有復(fù)數(shù)詞尾，但它們本身可以用作單數(shù)可數(shù)名詞，此時(shí)自然可在其前使用不定冠詞。如：

We came to a crossroads. 我們來到了十字路口。

This is a means to an end. 這是達(dá)到目的的一種手段。
