副詞much可修飾哪些成分

用作副詞，主要用來(lái)修飾以下詞語(yǔ)：

1. 修飾形容詞或副詞的比較級(jí)。如：

Now things got much worse. 現(xiàn)在情況更糟了。

She felt much better after taking the medicine. 吃完藥后她感覺(jué)好多了。

有時(shí)可修飾最高級(jí)，但要放在定冠詞之前。如：

This is much the worst stretch of motorway in the country. 這是這個(gè)國(guó)家最糟糕的一段公路。

This is much the most important. 這是最最重要的。

It is much the best place in Britain to live. 這絕對(duì)是在英國(guó)居住的最好地方。

2. 修飾被動(dòng)結(jié)構(gòu)中的過(guò)去分詞（也可用very much）。如：

I’m much obliged to you for telling me. 你告訴了我，我非常感激。

He was (very) much shocked by the news. 他聽(tīng)到這消息感到非常震驚。

3. 修飾副詞 too（太）。如：

He spoke much too fast. 他說(shuō)話說(shuō)得太快了。

This is much too heavy for you to lift. 這東西太重，你拿不起來(lái)。

4. 修飾介詞短語(yǔ)。如：

He can’t be much below (under) sixty. 他年紀(jì)60歲不會(huì)差多少。

Much to our surprise, he left without saying goodbye. 使我們大為驚奇的是，他竟沒(méi)打個(gè)招呼就走了。

5. 修飾動(dòng)詞，通常只用于否定句或疑問(wèn)句中，不能用于肯定句中（除非其前有 very, too, so 等之類的修飾語(yǔ)）。如：

I like travelling very much. 我非常喜歡旅游。

He wants to see the film very much. 他很想看這部電影。

注意以下各正誤句型：

正：He doesn’t like her much.（用于否定句，對(duì)）

正：He doesn’t much like her.（用于否定句，對(duì)）

正：Does he like her much?（用于疑問(wèn)句，對(duì)）

正：Does he much like her?（用于疑問(wèn)句，對(duì)）

正：He likes her very [too, so] much.（有修飾語(yǔ)，對(duì)）

誤：He likes her much. /He much likes her.（用于肯定句，無(wú)修飾語(yǔ)，錯(cuò)）

注意，單個(gè)的much有時(shí)也能在肯定句中修飾動(dòng)詞，但這類動(dòng)詞只限于regret, admire, prefer, appreciate等個(gè)別動(dòng)詞，且只能放在句中，不可放在句末。如：

正：We much appreciate your invitation. 我們非常感激你的邀請(qǐng)。

誤：We appreciate your invitation much.（若改用very much則完全可以）

6. 比較 much too與 too much：兩者結(jié)構(gòu)相似，很容易混淆。它們?cè)谟梅ㄉ系膮^(qū)別是：much too=too，但前者語(yǔ)氣更強(qiáng)；too much=much，但前者語(yǔ)氣更強(qiáng)。如：

He drives much too fast. 他開(kāi)車開(kāi)得太快了。

The shoes are much too small for me. 這鞋子我穿太小了。

There is too much rain. 雨水太多了。

You have given me too much. 你已經(jīng)給我太多了。
