2. 有些動詞，如acknowledge, advise, allow, forbid, permit, urge等，它們后面雖然不能直接跟不定式作賓語，但可接不定式作賓語補足語，即接不定式的復合結構作賓語。如：

They acknowledged themselves to be defeated. 他們承認自己被擊敗。

She advised us to keep the door locked. 她建議我們應當鎖好門。

In no circumstances will I allow you to go there. 不管發生什么事，我都不準你去那里。

Most of the parents agree to forbade their children to smoke. 大多數父母都同意禁止自己的孩子抽煙。

We don’t permit people to smoke in the lecture room. 我們不允許人們在大教室抽煙。 

Ann urged me to read the instructions. 安勸告我看看說明書。

這類句式有時也可換成sb’s doing sth結構，如上面的前面兩句也可寫成：

The doctor advised my taking a complete rest. 醫生建議我完全休息。

My parents don’t allow my go out at night. 我父母不允許我晚上出去。
