7. 幾個(gè)詞序問題：

(1) 與another搭配時(shí)，置于another之后。如：

I’m staying for another few weeks. 我還要再呆幾個(gè)星期。

The road runs northeast for another few miles. 這條路向東北方又延伸了幾英里。

(2) 與every搭配時(shí)，置于every之后。如：

We meet every few days. 我們每隔幾天就會(huì)一次面。

Every few days there seemed to be another setback. 每隔幾日似乎就有一次挫折。

(3) 與first, last, past, next搭配時(shí)，置于其后。如：

He has lived here for the last few years. 最近幾年他住在這里。

The next few days are going to be wet. 往后幾天都要下雨。

I’ve seen little of her in the past few weeks. 近幾周我很少見到她。

The first few chapters are about his early days. 前幾章談他的少年時(shí)期。

(4) 與more搭配時(shí)，置于其前。如：

I advise waiting a few more days. 我建議再等幾天。

I have a few more pages to read yet. 我還有幾頁(yè)要看。

(5) 與such搭配使用時(shí)，置于such之前。如：

I’ve met few such people. 那樣的人我見得很少。

8. 幾個(gè)易誤解的短語(yǔ)：

(1) a good few：其意思不是“很少”“相當(dāng)少”，而是“不少”“相當(dāng)多”，強(qiáng)調(diào)數(shù)量多。如：

You will have to wait a good few weeks. 你得等上好幾個(gè)星期。

We had a good few letters this morning. 我們今天早上收到好多信。

(2) not a few：其意思不是“很少”“相當(dāng)少”，而是“不少”“相當(dāng)多”，強(qiáng)調(diào)數(shù)量多。如：

Not a few of my friends are vegetarian. 我朋友中不少人吃素。

There were hundreds of protestors, not a few of whom were women. 有數(shù)百名抗議者，其中相當(dāng)一部分為婦女。

(3) quite a few：其意思不是“很少”“相當(dāng)少”，而是“不少”“相當(dāng)多”，強(qiáng)調(diào)數(shù)量多。如：

Quite a few people went to the game. 相當(dāng)多人去觀看了球賽。

We’ve got quite a few friends in the village. 我們?cè)诖遄永镉邢喈?dāng)多的朋友。

(4) no fewer than：其意為“多達(dá)”“至少”“不少于”，主要用于強(qiáng)調(diào)數(shù)目之多或?yàn)榱私o人以深刻的印象，與as many as的意思相似。如：

There were no fewer than a hundred cars there. 那里的汽車不少于100輛。

There are no fewer than 100 different species in the area. 這個(gè)地區(qū)的物不會(huì)少于100種。
