一、such+a+單數可數名詞　　

大家知道，such 后接單數可數名詞時，是必須要帶不定冠詞的，這樣的例句詞典上比比皆是。如：　　

Such a solution proved impractical. 這樣一種解決方法證明是不切實際的。　　

I felt such a fool when I realized what I’d done. 當我明白自己干了什么時，感覺自己就像個傻瓜。　　

To be offered a place at such a good university is quite an achievement.  獲得這樣好的大學錄取是件很了不起的事。　　

Such a large sorting operation can take up a lot of computer time. 如此復雜的排序操作會占用很多計算機時間。　　

Such a savage punishment is abhorrent to a civilized society. 這樣殘暴的懲罰在文明的社會引起反感。　　

There had never been such a beautiful woman anywhere in the world. 世界上從未有過如此美麗的女人。　　

Such a war could result in the use of chemical and biological weapons. 這樣的戰爭可能導致使用生化武器。　　

二、no such+單數可數名詞　　

由于 no 在意義上相當于 not any, not a, not one等，所以當它后面修飾單數可數名詞時不能再用不定冠詞。如：　　

There’s no such thing as ghosts. 沒有鬼神這類事。（摘自《牛津英語搭配詞典》）　　

There is no such thing as a free lunch. 世上沒有免費午餐之類的好事兒。（摘自《牛津高階英漢雙解詞典》）

三、such / no such +不可數名詞或復數名詞　　

若such 或 no such 后接的不是單數可數名詞，而是不可數名詞或是復數名詞，自然不能用不定冠詞。如：　　

It makes sense to keep such information on disk. 把這樣的信息保存在磁盤上是明智的。　　

I had never seen diamonds shine with such brilliance before.  我以前從沒有見過如此耀眼的鉆石。　　

Such mental attitudes are difficult, if not impossible, to change. 這樣的心態很難改變，也許不可能改變。
