shoot to, shoot at 及其他

有網友問：在語法書和教輔書上，讀到有關shoot to和shoot at的區別，都說shoot to用于距離遠、體積大的物體；shoot at用于距離近、體積小的物體。請問，是這樣的嗎？　　

這種說法很牽強，屬于只看到現象，未觸及本質。用shoot to還是shoot at與物體的遠、近、大、小，沒有直接的關系。以下是我的理解和看法：　　

shoot作“射擊”講，既是及物動詞，也是不及物動詞。及物時表示“射中”，如：shoot the tiger（射中老虎）；不及物時，跟不同介詞搭配有不同的含義，例如：　　

shoot at the wolf 朝著狼射擊　　

shoot to the woods 朝著森林方向射擊　　

shoot into the house 朝房內射擊　　

通過比較，我們發現：shoot本身沒有變化，差別就在于，不同的介詞有不同的含義。　　

at 表示“目標”；to表示“方向”；into表示“朝......里面（有容積的物體）”。所以，它們的區別與射擊目標的“遠、近、大、小”沒有直接關系。比方說，“朝著東方射擊”，就用shoot to，因為to表示“方向”，這時不能用at；wolf是目標就用at，但woods用at就不合適。類似的用法，也適應于look，point等詞，請讀者仔細體味：　　

look at the blackboard （看黑板） 　　

look to the west（向西看） 　　

look into the water（向水里望去）　　

point at the picture （指著圖片） 　　

point to the wall （朝墻的方向指去） 　　

point into the sky（向空中指去）
