名詞congratulation的四點用法說明

1. 既可用可數(shù)名詞，也可用作不可數(shù)名詞。一般說來，表示抽象意義的“祝賀”時，為不可數(shù)名詞。如：

It is a matter for congratulation. 這是一件可喜可賀的事。

She received a telegram of congratulations. 她收到一份祝賀電報。

He sent her a note of congratulation on her election victory. 她選舉獲勝，他就寄去了祝賀信。

但用作可數(shù)名詞時，總是用復(fù)數(shù)形式，表示祝賀詞。如：

Congratulations poured in from everywhere. 祝賀像潮水一樣從四面八方涌來。

They crowded round the player with congratulations. 他們圍著那個運動員，向他祝賀。

2. 表示因為某事而表示祝賀，其后接介詞on，不用for。如：

Congratulations on passing your exam. 祝賀你通過了考試。

My warmest congratulations on your promotion! 我對你的提升表示最熱烈的祝賀！

3. 若要加強語氣，其前可用deepest（衷心的），heartiest / hearty / sincere（誠摯的），warm / warmest（熱烈的）等形容詞修飾。如：

My warmest congratulations on your promotion! 我對你的提升表示最熱烈的祝賀！

4. 在結(jié)婚典禮上，人們可以對新郎說Congratulations，但習(xí)慣上不對新娘說Congratulations。
