beginning的搭配說明

搭配一：表示“起初”或“在開始時”，可用介詞 in 或 at。如：

He disliked it at [in] the beginning. 他開始時不喜歡它。

In [At] the beginning I lived next to her. 開始我住在她隔壁。

若其后接有介詞 of, 則其前通常用介詞 at。如：

She left here at the beginning of this month. 她是本月初離開這兒的。

You’ll find this sentence at the beginning of this chapter. 你會在這一章的開頭找到這個句子。

有時也用介詞in，但遠不如用介詞at普通。如：

It happened at [in] the beginning of this century. 此事發生在本世紀之初。

搭配二：注意以下短語的搭配：

(1) from the beginning 從頭開始，從一開始。如：

Recite the poem from the beginning. 從頭開始背誦這首詩。

I was opposed to the plan from the beginning. 我從一開始就反對這個計劃。

(2) from beginning to end 從頭至尾。注意其中不用冠詞。如：

He knows the subject from beginning to end. 這個專題他了如指掌。

The whole story is a lie from beginning to end. 整篇報道是徹頭徹尾的謊言。
