dislike 用作名詞與用作動詞的搭配異同

1. 用作名詞，表示不喜歡或討厭某人或某物時，其后通常接介詞for或of。如：

I have a dislike for rain and fog. 我討厭雨和霧。

He made no secret of his dislike for me. 他并不諱言他不喜歡我。

Dislike of snakes or spiders is a common thing. 害怕蛇或厭惡蜘蛛是很常見的事。

The incident confirmed him in his dislike of dogs. 出了這件事之后他就更加不喜歡狗了。

但是，在take a dislike to（不喜歡，討厭）這一搭配中習慣上用介詞to。如：

I don’t know why, but I took a strong dislike to him as soon as I saw him. 也不知為什么，我一見他就十分討厭他。

另外，表示不喜歡做某事，作名詞dislike后通常不接不定式，而接to doing sth。如：

I have a strong dislike to playing cards for money. 我非常討厭打牌賭錢。

Her dislike to living in the Far East became stronger from day to day. 她對在遠東生活越來越厭了。

2. 用作動詞時，其后通常接名詞作賓語。如：

She very much dislikes fish. 她很不喜歡吃魚。

It seems that John dislikes his boss. 約翰似乎不喜歡他的老板。

若表示不喜歡做某事，動詞dislike后接動名詞作賓語，不接不定式（這與其反義詞 like 不同）。如：

He disliked working late. 他不喜歡工作到很晚。

Many teachers dislike marking piles of exercise books. 許多教師都厭煩批改大堆的作業。

有時動名詞前可以還有自己的邏輯主語。如：

He disliked me [my] working late. 他不喜歡我工作到很晚。

3. dislike 通常只用作及物動詞，所以下面一句中其后的 it 不能省略（注：其后的 when 從句為狀語從句而非賓語從句）：

I dislike it when you whistle. 我討厭你吹口哨。

He disliked it when she behaved badly in front of his mother. 他討厭她在他母親面前舉止失當。
