regard的用法與搭配問題

1. 用作動(dòng)詞，注意以下用法：

(1) 表示“把……看作……”，與介詞 as 連用；as 之后可接名詞、代詞、形容詞、分詞、介詞短語等。如：

I regard him as a friend. 我把他當(dāng)朋友。

He regarded the situation as (being) serious. 他認(rèn)為形勢(shì)嚴(yán)重。

We can’t regard the matter as settled. 我們不能認(rèn)為這事已經(jīng)解決。

He regarded her as (being) without principles. 他認(rèn)為她沒有原則。

以上各句中的as均不能省略，也不能改為to be，或換成that從句。如：

誤：I regard him (to be) a friend.

誤：I regard him that he is a friend.

(2) 表示“注視”“看待”，通常與介詞 with 連用。如：

She was regarding me with smiling eyes. 她笑瞇瞇地看著我。

I have always regarded him with the greatest admiration. 我總是很敬慕他。

2. 用作名詞，注意以下用法：

(1) 表示“關(guān)心”“關(guān)懷”等，是不可數(shù)名詞；表示“尊重”“贊賞”，也是不可數(shù)名詞，但有時(shí)可與不定冠詞連用。如：

He shows little regard for others. 他很少關(guān)心別人。

I have (a) great regard for him. 我很尊重他。

(2) 表示“問候”，要用復(fù)數(shù)形式。如：

Please give him my (best) regards. 請(qǐng)代我向他問好。

My father sends his regards to you. 我父親向你問好。

3. 用于 as regards 或 with [in] regard to，意為“關(guān)于”“至于”。如：

As regards money, I have enough. 至于錢，我有的是。

I have something to say with [in] regard to his conduct. 對(duì)于他的行為，我有一點(diǎn)意見。
