trouser與 trousers 的用法問題

1. 表示“褲子”、“長褲”，通常只用復(fù)數(shù)形式，若用作主語，其謂語也用復(fù)數(shù)；要表示幾條褲子用單位詞pair, 此時用作主語，其謂語的數(shù)與 pair 保持一致。如：

My trousers are very old. 我的褲子很舊了。

This pair of trousers is his. 這條褲子是他的。

Three pairs of trousers were stolen. 有三條褲子被盜。

注：雖為復(fù)數(shù)，但不可直接受數(shù)詞修飾(與 pair 連用則可以)，不過它可直接用 these, those 等修飾。

2. 使用代詞時，trousers要用復(fù)數(shù)代詞 them, 而是 it；另外對于 a pair of trousers 之類的則用 pair 替代，而不用 one, ones等。如：

Your trousers are dirty. You should wash them. 你的褲子很臟了，你應(yīng)該把它洗一洗。

I don’t like this pair of trousers. Would you show meanother pair? 我不喜歡這條褲子，請另外拿條給我看看好嗎?

3. 以下表達中 trouser 用了單數(shù)，因此它在此用作形容詞：

a trouser pocket(褲袋)

trouser legs(褲管)

trouser buttons(褲扣)

trouser press(褲子壓平器)

等等。
