英語連接代詞用法三要點

1. 連接代詞的的形式與用法

疑問代詞在引導特殊疑問句時叫做疑問代詞，若引導從句則叫連接代詞(也有的書仍叫疑問代詞)。連接代詞主要用于引導主語從句、賓語從句和表語從句，同時連接代詞中句中用作主語、賓語、表語、定語等(但 who 和 whom 不用于名詞前作定語)。如：

We don’t know who will come. 我們不知道誰會來。

Tell me whose wallet this is. 告訴我這是誰的錢包。

2. 連接代詞 what 的用法

用作連接代詞的 what 有兩個用法，一是表示“什么”，二是表示“…所…的東西”，表示后者的意思時它相當于一個“先行詞+關系代詞”，如：

Can you see what the sign says? 你能看清招牌上寫的是什么嗎?

What the sign says is none of your business. 招牌上寫著什么與你無關。

3. 含有 –ever 的連接代詞

-ever 可與what, who, which 構成whatever, whoever與whichever這樣的連接代詞。它們可用于引導主語從句、賓語從句、狀語從句等。如：

I’ll take whichever books you don't want. 你不要的任何書我都要。

I don’t believe in letting children do whatever they like. 我不贊成讓孩子為所欲為。

Whoever you are, you can’t enter this building. 不管你是誰，你都不能進入這棟樓。

注：含 –ever 的連接代詞引導主語從句和賓語從句，它們相當于 any…that…；引導狀語從句時，它們相當于 no matter…。如上面的第2、3句也可寫成：

I don’t believe in letting children do anything that they like. 我不贊成讓孩子為所欲為。

No matter who you are, you can’t enter this building. 不管你是誰，你都不能進入這棟樓。
