技巧6  利用對稱結構搶分

此法指的是在做題過程中要善于利用and, but等并列連詞。若其前是個句子，則其后也必定是個句子，反之亦然；若連接的是幾個動詞，這幾個動詞也必定是同一時態或同一形式。如：

1. It is worth considering what makes “convenience” foods so popular, and ______ better ones of your own.

A. introduces             B. to introduce          C. introducing           D. introduced

【分析】C。句中的并列連詞and連接的是兩個對稱的并列成分，由于其前的considering…為動名詞，所以空格處也要用動名詞。

2. ______ the website of the Fire Department in your city, and you will learn a lot about firefighting.

A. Having searched    B. To search            C. Searching             D. Search

【分析】做本題的關鍵詞是and。由and可知這是一個并列句，and的后面是句子，其前面也應是句子。由于句首無主語，可推斷它是祈使句，所以選動詞原形，即答案為D。
