idea后接動詞和從句的用法問題

1. 表示做某事的想法，其后要接 of doing sth作定語，一般不接不定式。如：

I hate the idea of getting old. 我討厭變老這個想法。

The idea of parachuting out of a plane terrifies me. 一想到要從飛機(jī)上跳傘，我就感到很害怕。

其后雖然不直接跟不定式，但有時可接帶連接代詞或連接副詞的不定式。如：

I have no idea of how to do it. 我不知道如何做此事。

I had no idea what to say to her. 我不知道對她說什么。

注意下面一句中idea后的不定式不是定語，而是主語：

It’s not a good idea to come between a man and his wife. 最好不要介入人家夫妻間的事。

2. idea 之后可接一個由 that 引導(dǎo)的同位語從句，用以說明idea的具體內(nèi)容，此時的 that不能改用 which。如：

She had no idea that I was unhappy. 她不知道我不高興。

The idea that you can do this work without thinking is wrong. 你可以不動腦筋做此工作的想法是錯誤的。

但是，如果其后接的是定語從句，則可以用which來引導(dǎo)，此時的which在定語從句中用作主語或賓語。如：

The idea which she put forward was interesting. 她提出來的想法很有趣。

3. 后接that引導(dǎo)的從句時，不用介詞 of；接續(xù)疑問詞引導(dǎo)的從句時，可用介詞of（也可省略）。如：

Have you any idea (of) when he will come? 你知道他什么時候來嗎?

This will give you some idea (of) what relativity means. 這會使你對相對論的意義有所理解。
