含lake的專有名詞前是否用定冠詞

1. 中國(guó)的湖名在英譯時(shí)，其前通用定冠詞，如：

the West Lake（西湖）

the Dongting Lake（洞庭湖）

2. 外國(guó)的湖名前，通常不加定冠詞，如：

Success Lake（成功湖）

Lake Baikal（貝加爾湖）

Silver Lake（銀湖）

Lake Michigan（密執(zhí)安湖）等。

注：有個(gè)別外國(guó)湖名也用冠詞，如the Lake of Geneva（日內(nèi)瓦湖）。
