引導目的狀語從句和結果狀語從句的連詞

一、引導目的狀語從句的連詞

引導目的狀語從句的從屬連詞主要有 in order that, so that, in case, for fear等。如：

He studied hard in order that he could pass the exam. 他努力學習以便能考試及格。

Speak clearly so that they may understand you. 講清楚些，以便他們能理解你。

I always keep a bottle of wine by in case friends call round. 我平時總存著一瓶酒以備朋友來時喝。

She worried for fear that the child would be hurt. 她很憂慮，怕孩子會受傷。

注意：in case既可引導條件狀語從句，也可引導目的狀語從句，但意思不同：表示條件時，意為“如果”“萬一”；表示目的時，意為“以防”“以免”。

二、引導結果狀語從句的連詞

引導結果狀語從句的從屬連詞主要有so that, so…that, such…that等。如：

He studied hard so that he passed the exam. 他學習用功，所以考試通過了。

He was so angry that he couldn't speak. 他氣得話都說不出來。

He shut the window with such force that the glass broke. 他關窗子用力很大，結果玻璃震破了。

注意，當so…that…中的“so+形容詞或副詞”置于句首時，其后要用倒裝語序。如：

So easy was the task that he finished it in a few days. 工作很容易，他幾天就完成了。

So fast does light travels that it is difficult for to imagine its speed. 光傳播如此之快，以致我們難以想像它的速度。
