a bit 與 a little的三條區別

區別一：兩者都可放在形容詞之前用作程度狀語，且通常都與那些表示“不好”意義的形容詞(如: tired, cold, sick, sad, serious 等)連用。如：

The man was a bit [a little] tired. 這個人有點兒累了。

I think these boxes are a bit [a little] heavy. 我想這些箱子有點兒重吧。

注：a bit 和 a little 一般不能用于表示“好”意義的形容詞如 good,  well, happy, glad, satisfied 等)之前。如：

誤：He is a bit [a little] well.

誤：It is a bit [a little] cheap.

但是，若修飾比較級，則沒有以上限制。如：

正：He’s feeling a bit [a little] better. 他感覺好些了。

正：It is a bit [a little] cheaper. 它要便宜些。

區別二：a little 可直接用于名詞(不可數)前作定語，但 a bit 卻不能，它用于名詞(不可數)之前時應先接介詞 of。如：

He may need a bit of [a little] help. 他也許需要點幫助。

He knows a bit of [a little] French. 他懂一點點法語。

但是若名詞前有 my, this, the 等限定詞修飾，則不能直接用 a little, 而用 a little of。如：

I taste a little of this wine. 我嘗了一點兒這種酒。

注：a bit of 后有時接單數可數名詞表示“有點(像)”。如：

He is a bit of a poet. 他有點像詩人。

She was in a bit of a hurry. 她有點兒匆匆忙忙。

區別三：盡管在肯定句中，兩者在很多情況下同義且可互換，但在否定結構中，兩者意思幾乎相反：

(1) not a bit 意為“一點也不”(= not at all)。如：

He is not a bit worried. 他一點也不著急。

A：Is it difficult? 它很難嗎?

B：Not a bit. 一點不難。

(2) not a little 意為“很”、“非常”(= very)。如：

I’m not a little tired. 我很累了。

He was not a little angry. 他非常生氣。
