考點3  whoever sb is 的用法

whoever sb is 的字面意思是“無論某人是誰”。如：

Everybody who goes into this region, whoever they are, is at risk of being taken hostage. 進入這個地區的人，不管是誰，都有被劫為人質的危險。

另外，whoever sb is 也可用作習語（此時也可說成whoever sb may be），表示“不知道某人是誰”。如：

He says he bought the car from Frank, whoever Frank is. 他說他是從弗蘭克那里買的車，不知道這個弗蘭克是誰。

考點4  whoever引導從句的用法

從用法上看，whoever可用于引導名詞性從句和讓步狀語從句。如：

Whoever uprooted that tree ought to be ashamed of themselves. 把樹連根撥起的那個人應該感到羞恥。（引導主語從句）

Could I speak to whoever is in charge of International Sales please? 請找負責國際銷售的人接電話好嗎？（引導賓語從句）

Whoever wants to speak to me on the phone, tell them I’m busy. 不管誰要我接電話，就說我現在正忙著呢。（引導狀語從句）
