F. So it pays to be sure, because you want to get it right the first time

【參考譯文】所以（對此做到）心中有數大有好處，因為咱們都希望這件事一次就做好/成功。（意思是大家都希望這種活兒能一步到位，誰都不希望拖拖拉拉甚至是返工。）

【參考解析】注意兩個有用的結構：

(1) It pays to do sth  做某事有所值/有回報/很劃算  這里的pay與我們人教選修8學的pay off意義相同，= to be worth the effort to do sth。

It pays (=it is worth the effort)  to study the note after every class.每次課后都學習一下筆記對你會有好處的。

It never pays to take risks where human safety is concerned.凡是涉及人身安全時，冒險決不會有什么好處。

(2) do/get it right the first time 一次就做好/做成/成功

So we'd better get it right the first time. 所以我們最好一次成功。

This means that in America you rarely get more than one chance to put forth your version of the facts, so you had better do it right the first time. 這就意味著，在美國，你只有一次說明自己一方事實的機會，所以說你最好在第一次就把這事情做對。
