系動詞rest的用法

rest用作連系動詞只限于和少數形容詞搭配。如：

■rest a mystery

The affair rests a mystery. 這件事一直是個謎。

■rest easy

Rest easy. 不要緊張。

■rest assured

You can rest assured that I will do my best. 你放心，我會盡力。

You can rest assured that I’ll do my best. 你可以放心我會盡力而為的。

You may rest assured that everything possible is being done. 你盡管放心，正在盡力把一切都做好。

You may rest assured that l will do everything I call to help you. 你可以相信我會盡力幫助你的。

The matter rests thus—that you are responsible for the damage. 事實仍然是這樣——你得對損壞負責。
