句中的 up 改為 on 也可以（但是不是改為in更合適些）。兩者的區別是：up 表示有一定的高度，而 on 則不一定表示高度。如：
可以說：He saw a bird in the tree.
可以說：He saw a bird up the tree.
又如：
可以說：His clothes are on the floor.
不可說：His clothes are up the floor.
