表示生日或節日在哪一天，加不加介詞 on 均可以。但根據我們從原版詞典中搜集到的例句來看，表示生日在哪一天，加介詞on 的例句比不加介詞 on 的例句要多：

He told me that his birthday is the tenth of March. 他告訴我他的生日是在3月10日。

His birthday is on 19 October. He is (a) Libra. 他的生日是10月19日。他屬天秤座。　

但表示節日在哪一天，則不加介詞on 的例句比加介詞 on 的例句要多：

New Year’s Day is the 1st of January. 元旦是1月1日。

Christmas Day is (on) the 25th of December. 圣誕節是12月25日。

說 This kind of apple is very big. 是英語的通常用法。

而說 This kind of books are boring. 則是錯誤用法（至少是不通常用法）

■第三個問題

Her favorite fruit is apples and bananas. 這個句子是正確的。我們說“主謂一致”，指的是“主語”與“謂語動詞”保持一致，由于此句的主語是Her favorite fruit，為單數，故謂語動詞也用單數。又比如下面的句子（均摘自原版詞典），雖然表語是單數，但由于主語是復數，所以謂語動詞仍用復數：

Mushrooms are a type of fungus. 蘑菇是一種真菌。

The dirty streets are a disgrace to the city. 骯臟的街道讓這個城市蒙羞。　　

■第四個問題

He also doesn't like comedies. 是一個正確的句子。確實 also 通常不用于否定句，那指的是它不可用于否定范圍之內，但可以用于否定范圍之外。對于此句來說，also 是修飾主語he 的，不是修飾謂語 doesn’t like 的。
