1. 在通常情況下，點動詞不適合用于進行時態，但這并不絕對，有時點動詞與進行時連用可以表示動作的重復或反復。如：
He was knocking at the door. 他在敲門。（指不停地敲門）
2. 英語習慣上不說 find sb do sth，可說 find sb doing sth等。

happen 用于進行時態的情形比較多。如以下兩句均摘自權威詞書：
Not much is happening in our town. 我們城市現在沒發生多少事。
The new boss has a sense of what is happening in the business. 新老板對公司里所發生的一切了如指掌。
而take place 則較少用于進行時態，即使這樣用也往往是表示將來，如下面這句摘自《牛津英語用法指南》：
Where is the concert taking place? 音樂會在哪里舉行?
