thinking 與 thought 在意思上有很多交叉的地方，區別起來比較麻煩，但就你提到的critical thinking（批判性思維）、divergent thinking（發散式思維）、out-of-box thinking （創造性思維）等表達，均不宜用 thought 來代替，因為 thinking 在此的意思是the way you consider things or react to them（思維方式），thought 沒有此用法。從可數上看上，thinking 只用作不可數名詞，因此沒有復數形式。
