“直到三天后”不能說成until in 3 days，但可以說成until 3 days later和until after 3 days，兩者的區別如同3 days later與after 3 days 的區別一樣，前面加上了until，只是意思有所不同而已。　　

■類似 in two days 這樣的短語有兩層意思：一是表示“兩天后”（從現在算起的兩天后）；二是表示“兩天內”（不一定從現在算起）。在句中到底表示哪個意思，這不是個語法問題，而是看用哪個意思句子才通順、合情理。如：　　

I can’t talk now—I’ll call you back in ten minutes. 我現在不能講了——過10分鐘我再打給你。

We have to check in three hours before the flight leaves. 我們必須在航班起飛前3小時辦理登機手續。　　

■類似two days later, after two days的意思是“兩天后”，從過去或將來時間算起的“兩天后”。如：　　　　

She aborted after four months. 她懷孕四個月后流產了。　　

They got married in 1986, and got divorced two years later. 他們1986年結的婚，兩年以后便離婚了。　　

They will get married next Sunday and will go honeymooning in 　　Canada　　 two days later. 他們定于下星期日結婚并于兩天后到加拿大去度蜜月。　　

I’ll try to get there on time tomorrow but, if I fail, wait for me, please, I’ll sure arrive after a few minutes. 明天我會設法準時到達那里，但是若是我沒趕到，請等我一下，過了幾分鐘我一定會到。　　

two days later與after two days意思相同，兩者常可互換。如：　　

When we met again after two years, I just choked up. = When we met again two years later, I just choked up. 兩年以后我們再見面時，我激動得說不出話來。
