■contradiction強調什么？我沒怎么明白您的意思。英語詞典對它的解釋是：a lack of agreement between facts, opinions, actions, etc，僅就這個解釋來看，它強調的是lack of agreement，即強調意見不一致，從而因此產生矛盾或對立。　　

■Conflict指兩種思想、信仰、說法等“相沖突”或“相抵觸”，《牛津高階英漢雙解詞典》（第6版）的解釋是：if two ideas, beliefs, stories, etc. conflict, it is not possible for them to exist together or for them both to be true。　　

Contradict指陳述或證據“相抵觸”或“相矛盾”，《牛津高階英漢雙解詞典》（第6版）的解釋是：(of statements or pieces of evidence) to be so different from each other that one of them must be wrong。　　

由此可見，兩者在含義上相差不大。兩者的主要區別在用法：用于以上意思時，conflict 主要用作不及物動詞，要表示“與……相抵觸相矛盾”，通常后接介詞 with；而 contradict 則主要用作及物動詞，要表示“與……相抵觸相矛盾”，其后不接介詞 with，直接跟賓語。比如（均摘自牛津詞典）：　　

The statements of the two witnesses conflict. 兩個證人的證詞不一致。

Their account of events conflicts with ours. 他們對事件的說法與我們的說法截然不同。

The two statements contradict each other. 兩種說法互相抵觸。

The report contradicts what we heard yesterday. 這個報告與我們昨天聽到的有矛盾。
