level ,degree ,scale ,extent, proportions, magnitude.的區別.這些詞,似乎都有表程度的意思 . 雖然都可翻譯為程度的意思,但強調的東西總有不同吧？　　

我下面例舉下我的疑惑,以方便老師更好的講解到我的疑惑點.在此,先謝謝老師了.辛苦了.　　

千萬別被這么長嚇到了哈,都是我的例句加上一大堆廢話,問題其實只有幾個而已.再次感謝老師.一定要幫我呵.詳細點.　　

1.degree和extent.區別.在表示程度時,似乎沒什么區別,以下用degree的地方可以換成extent嗎？extent 強調的是how large,important,serious 等等,強調有多么多么的….,即程度.　　

degree 到底在強調什么？ 我糊涂了.　　

These man-made barriers will ensure a very high degree of protection..(保護力度有多么的… ,用extent 不行嗎？)　　

Politicians have used television with varying degrees of success.(用extent 不行嗎？有多么的成功嘛？即成功程度.)　　

1960s Britain was characterised by a greater degree of freedom than before. (…….同上疑惑.)　　

Newspapers vary in the degree to which they emphasize propaganda rather than information  (…….同上疑惑.)　　

Their wages do, however, allow them a degree of independence...　　

還有這些也是從字典上摘抄下來的,此時degree他強調……

2.scale 和extent 區別.  scale具體強調什么?   　　

the scale of the problem/damage.    the extent of the problem /damage. 都表示程度.　　

scale具體強調什么？ 　　

B.在強調范圍,規模的時候…和size 區別.　　

the size of companies .公司規模 / the size of the market fot their new product .產品的市場規模.(可以換成the scale of companies /market嗎？產品市場規模,其實就是強調一種范圍,那么可以用scope 嗎？)　　

業務,產品規模用size ,還是scale , or scope. 　　

He knows the size of the task...  該怎么翻譯？　　

3.level 通常翻譯為水平, 程度, 量.  我對這個詞的理解就更模糊了, 它似乎在強調某個數量范圍中的一個 值.點. 程度. 即a point on a scale 的概念。但似乎有不妥,這樣的話, extent of problem, degree of skill等等,都應該換成level了. degree似乎也表示某種數量,量的概念,不知和level 有什么概念上的區別 .　　

noise levels  / price/income levels / high level of intelligence 很高的智力水平.　　

level of demand 需求量. (可以換成 the amount of demand嗎？)　　

The exercises are marked according to their level of difficulty.(可以用 extent of difficulty 嗎)　　

The downward trend in annual pollution levels. 每年污染程度的下降趨勢.(可換成extent?)　　

Try to reduce your stree levels.盡量減輕你的壓力.　　

We do have the lowest level of inflation for some years...　　

a test that checks the level of alcohol in the blood. 　　

If you don't know your cholesterol level, it's a good idea to have it checked...　　

4.proportions. 強調什么……..?  他也有程度的意思.　　

In the tropics plants grow to huge proportions.　　

Try to reduce your tasks to more manageable proportions.減少到較易處理的量.　　

an ecological tragedy of enormous proportions .極其嚴重的生態悲劇.　　

a hero of mythic proportions .神話般的影響.　　

reached epidemic proportions. 已到了流行病的程度.　　

5. magnitude強調….? 他也有程度的意思.　　

An operation of this magnitude is going to be difficult...　　

magnitude of the problem. 　　

a discovery of the first magnitude .
