■make sense 有時也可以用“人”作主語，表示沒有把話說請楚等。John wasn't making much sense on the phone 的意思是“約翰在電話沒怎么說清楚”。又如下面這個句子，摘自《當代美國英語學習詞典》：　　

Talk slowly; you’re not making sense! 請慢些講，你沒說清楚意思。　　

■They rated him highly as a colleague. 的意思是：作為同事，他們對他評價非常高。　　

句中的 highly 修飾 rate，不是修飾 as a colleague。
