■far away 的意思是“很遠”。其后不能再接詞。如：

He didn't blink at the idea of leaving his home and going far away. 他對于要離家到遠方去并不覺得驚訝。　　

■far from 的意思是“離……很遠”，由于其中的 from 是介詞，所以其后必須接賓語。如：　　

The bus stop is not far from the hospital. 公共汽車站離醫院很近。　　

The house isn't big enough for me, and furthermore, it's too far from the town. 這棟房子不夠我們住，而且，它離市區太遠。　　

far from 用于引申義，表示“一點也不”“遠非”。如：　　

It is far from the truth. 這哪里是事實。　　

The project is far from perfect. 這項企劃很不完美。　　

■far away from 是 far from 的強調說法，也表示“離……很遠”，由于其中的 from 是介詞，所以其后必須接賓語。如：　　

I live far away from my school. 我住的地方離學校很遠。　　

The family lived far away from downtown. 那家人住在離市中心很遠的地方。

We'll have lunch at a canteen not far away from the office. 我們會去一家離辦公室不遠的小餐廳吃午飯。
