the murder of the president（總統(tǒng)遇刺）

現(xiàn)在回到你提出的問題，我的看法是：　　

in sb's defence可以改成in the defence of sb，但不宜改成in the defence of sb’s。　　

follow in sb's footsteps可以改成follow in the footsteps of sb，但不宜改成follow in the footsteps of sb’s。
