看到有個兄弟問過這個問題，他問的是as的用法；但是我有點不理解when的用法， 這里不是給前邊的強調句提供一個時間所以應該不是一個狀語從句，但是前邊也看不到合適的先行詞作為定語從句。后邊的翻譯有時侯……。那為什么不直接用and sometimes? 歸根到底這里when的用法是怎么回事呢？

like the Siberian mammoths之下該是個“句號”更合適，因為這個狀語該屬于前一個句子的。　　

后面的when the whole animal is sometimes preserved, as in a refrigerator，整個又是一個句子。　　

其中的when the whole animal is sometimes preserved，是該句子的狀語從句。狀語從句需要有一個關聯詞，具體為從屬連詞，when就是，而sometimes它是個副詞，其功能只修飾句子本身的動詞is preserved。　　

這個是課本上的，所以符號應該不會錯，而且改成句號when和和邊的連接也是個問題。
