問題：這句中的定語從句不僅不符合英語表達習慣，即表示某地存在某物應(yīng)該用there be句型之外，而且定語從句本身存在語法問題。顯然，定語從句中的in it完全多余。

■8. Generally speaking, the poetry of Philip Frenuea bears the first distinctly romantic quality in American literature, but it did not established the trend.（第76頁第7-10行）

問題：這句中的did not established應(yīng)改為did not establish，這是初中學生都不會犯的錯誤。

■9. Edward Everett and George Ticknor ranked among the representatives of those at first came into contact with European romanticism…（第76頁第18-20行）

問題：顯然，those at first came into contact應(yīng)改為those who at first came into contact才符合英語語法。

■10. His travel to Europe brought him not only into contact with romanticism but also the meeting with Sir Walter Scott, one the most important English authors of the period…（第76頁倒數(shù)第6-4行）

問題：這句話中的one the most important 應(yīng)改為one of the most important才符合英語表達習慣。
