close與closely用作副詞時區別

1. 用于本義，表示“接近地”“挨近地”“緊緊地”，兩者都可用。close 通常放在動詞之后，但在過去分詞之前要用 closely。如：

He was standing close to the door. 他靠門站著。

We followed close [closely] behind him. 我們緊跟在他后面。

We were so closely packed in the elevator that I could hardly move. 我們在電梯里緊緊地擠在一起，我幾乎不能動彈。

2. 用于引申義，表示“仔細地”或“緊密地”，通常用 closely。可放在動詞之后或之前，或過去分詞之前。如：

She listened closely while he read. 他讀時她仔細聽著。

He closely studied this problem. 他仔細研究過這個問題。

The two events are closely connected. 這兩件事有著緊密的聯系。
