directly的用法說明

1. 表示“直接地”，與“間接地”相對，指沒有中間環(huán)節(jié)的影響等。如：

The new law won’t directly affect us. 新的法律不會直接影響我們。

還可表示“直率地”“直截了當(dāng)?shù)?SPAN lang=EN-US>”。如：

He answered me very directly and openly. 他非常坦率地回答了我。

He refused to say directly what he thinks. 他拒絕直截了當(dāng)?shù)卣f出他的想法。

2. 表示“恰好”“正好”。如：

Directly in front of them stood a great castle. 一座巨大的城堡就矗立在他們面前。

The man you are looking for is in the shop directly opposite. 你找的那個(gè)人就在對面的商店里。

3. 在英國英語中，既可表示“立即”“馬上”，也可表示“不久以后”。如：

Come here directly. 馬上過來。

I will be there directly. 我很快就到。

在沒有特定上下文的情況下，可能有歧義。如：

I will start directly. 我馬上動(dòng)身（或我不久將動(dòng)身）。

4. 在英國英語中，可用作連詞，與as soon as相似，通常位于主句之后，有時(shí)也可位于主句之前。如：

I went home directly I had finished work. 我一干完工作就回家了。

Directly I walked in, the door I smelt smoke. 我一進(jìn)門，就聞見了煙味。

5. direct與directly均可用作副詞表示“徑直地”“直接地”，但direct 通常只位于動(dòng)詞之后，而directly則可位于動(dòng)詞之前或之后。如：

We flew direct [directly] to Paris. 我們直飛巴黎。

You’d better write direct [directly] to her. 你最好直接給她寫信。

His speech directly affected the strike. 他的演講直接影響了罷工。
