1. 表示多久時(shí)間“以前”這一意義時(shí)，注意：

3. 含有 ago 的短語通常用作狀語，有時(shí)也用作表語。如：

◆agree v.

1. 表示同意某人，后接介詞 with。如：

I quite agree with you. 我完全同意你。

I agree with him on that point. 在那一點(diǎn)上我同意他。

注：agree with 除表示同意某人外，還可表示同意某人的意見、想法、分析、解釋等(即持同一觀點(diǎn))，也可表示(食物、天氣等)對(duì)某人適宜，還可表示“與……一致”。如：

We agree with what you say. 我們同意你說的。

The food does not agree with me. 這食物對(duì)我不適合。

His story agrees with the facts. 他的陳述與事實(shí)相符。

2. 漢語的“同意某人做某事”，英語中不能直譯為 agree sb to do sth, 而應(yīng)根據(jù)情況改用其它結(jié)構(gòu)：

正：He agreed to let me go home.

正：He agreed to my going home.

誤：He agreed me to go home.

◆alive adj.

1. 表示“活著的”、“活躍的”等，主要用作表語，有時(shí)用作后置定語或補(bǔ)語。如：

He must be still alive. 他一定還活著。

He’s the happiest man alive. 他在世界上最幸福的人。

He was caught alive. 他被活捉了。

注：若 alive 本身有修飾語，也可用作前置定語。如：

2. alive 一般不用 very 修飾，但可用 much, very much, all 等修飾。如：

He is (very) much alive. 他非常活躍。

The city was all alive when we arrived. 我們到達(dá)時(shí)，城里非常熱鬧。

注：當(dāng) alive (to) 表示“意識(shí)到”(=aware of)時(shí)，可用 very修飾。如：

He is very alive to the danger. 他完全意識(shí)到了這危險(xiǎn)。

3. be alive with(充滿，到處是)。如：

The woods are alive with birds. 樹林中到處是鳥。

We are alive with hope. 我們滿懷希望。
