4. 在通常情況下，enough 不能用作表語，除非其主語是代詞或是那些具有(或暗示有)數量意義的名詞。如：

That’s enough. 夠了。

One such dictionary is enough. 這樣的詞典一本就夠了。

Six bottles of wine will be enough. 六瓶葡萄酒就夠了。

正：There isn’t enough beer. 啤酒不夠。

◆enter v.

1. 在下列情況，其后通常不接介詞 into：

(1) 表示進入某一具體的東西時：

The train entered the tunnel. 火車進入隧道。

He entered the room quietly. 他悄悄地進了房間。

The bullet entered his head. 子彈射入他的頭部。

偶爾可見 enter into a room 的用法，但很少見。

(2) 表示進入某一組織或某一機構時：

He entered the army last year. 他去年參軍了。

Then he entered a famous university. 后來他進了一所名牌大學。

(3) 表示報名參加考試(比賽等)時：

All his friends entered the examination (race). 他所有的朋友都報名參加了考試(比賽)。

注：也可說 enter for an examination。

2. 下列情況，enter 后通常接介詞 into：

(1) 表示開始做某事時：

He entered into business (politics) at the age of 25. 他25歲時開始經商(進入政界)。

The two old men entered into a long conversation. 兩位老人開始長談起來。

(2) 表示討論、研究或處理某問題時：

Let’s enter into the subject of taxes. 咱們來討論一下稅款問題。

We need not enter into details. 我們不必討論(研究、處理)細節。

(3) 表示領會或體會時：

He didn’t enter into her mood. 他不體諒她的心情。

I can enter into your feelings at the loss of your wife. 我能理解你失去妻子后的心情。

(4) 表示進入某種狀態時：

The two countries entered into a state of war. 這兩個國家進入戰備狀態。

(4) 表示進入某具體東西且強調深入其內時(若不強調則可不用)：

The arrow entered into his head. 箭射進了他的頭。

We entered into a woody mountain. 我們進入了一片山林里。

◆entirely adv.

1. 用于否定句中構成的是部分否定。如：

His work was not entirely satisfactory. 他的工作并非完全令人滿意。

I’m not entirely happy with that idea. 我對那個主意并不十分滿意。

2. 一般不與 very 連用，但可以與 almost 連用。如：

他對自己所做的事差不多全忘了。

誤:He had very entirely forgotten what he had done.

誤:He had forgotten what he had done very entirely.

正:He had almost entirely forgotten what he had done.
